The University of Criminal Investigation and Police Studies in Belgrade organised Training for citizens and public sector on the NatRisk project (NatRisk WeB, No. 573806-EPP-1-2016-1-RS-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP). The participants of the training were introduced to the natural disasters, their causes, as well as their direct and indirect consequences, with particular reference to the natural disasters that most often affect the Republic of Serbia. Special attention was paid to the contemporary methodology of natural disaster risk assessment and management in terms of measures and activities that should be undertaken with the aim of preventing and mitigating the effects of natural disasters. The training was also dedicated to emergency procedures in case of a natural disaster event, the normative–legal framework for the engagement of subjects of the protection and rescue system, responsible institutions and the role of the individual - citizen, as well as short-term and long-term post-disaster measures and activities.
